Richard has been doing some celebrity spotting on his recent walk!

On my walk, Mr Gill’s Precious Ornament, on Thursday evening, we passed the Langham hotel just as Hayley Hasselhoff was getting out of her car to go to the “Coktails with Monroe” exhibition at the hotel, so it seems from the link here:

The daughter of David Hasselhoff, I gather she is here in London promoting ladies fashion in London Fashion Week.  Her appearance, complete with clicking paparazzi, caused a bit of excitement during the walk. Naturally I told my group I had timed the walk exactly to meet Hayley’s arrival at the hotel.  But being a bit of a dope, I didn’t I get a picture myself!

The walk features the Regents Street cinema and yesterday I noticed this story about the cinema:  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-26282571.  Broadcaster, comedian, Sandi Toksvig has put her name behind the restoration and reopening of the historic cinema, where the Lumiere Brothers brought their projected films on 21 February 1896, the first public viewing in Britain of a projected film – so yesterday the cinema celebrated its 118 birthday.  A fundraising appeal has just been launched to raise the extra £2M needed to restore the cinema after the Heritage Lottery Fund has already put up £4M.

My next walk, “Not Just Tea at the Ritz”, with my askance take on Mayfair’s grand hotels, is coming very soon.
