This is one of the corbels in Temple Church, reconstructed from the 14th century originals after the church was badly damaged during World War Two. Its interesting to speculate whether the dog biting a mans ear relates to an actual incident. The corbels are well worth making a trip to see, a mixture of the funny, grotesque and mysterious. A small window into 14th century life and the real people who made this fantastic church.
