Our members

We’re all independent guides who have undertaken some professional course of study, and are recognised by and are members of one or more of the guiding associations that cover London.  We have decided to work together to market the walks we do, and share a system for booking and paying for walks.  This site is run by Footprints of London Limited, a non-profit making company limited by guarantee which is owned by the guides. You can use it to identify walks that you would like to do, and then book them online.

When you make a booking you are making a contract with the individual guide and not with this web site or Footprints of London Limited.

Qualified guides have been trained, and have considerable experience of researching, creating and leading walks. By using a qualified guide that is a member of a guiding association you can be assured that you will enjoy your booked walk, and that the guide is covered by third party insurance.

If you particularly enjoy walks done by a particular guide, there is a page for each guide on this website, and you can see and book the future walks that they plan to do. If is also possible to contact each guide if you want to ask questions, want them to quote for designing and running a walk for your organisation or business, or make any other point.

This site

Some technical information for those interested in how we operate the site.  All bookings are done through Eventbrite.  We then use WordPress blogging software to organise this web site, and link through to the individual walks on Eventbrite.  You can book either directly with this site, or through Eventbrite.  Our mailing lists are run through Mailchimp. And we use a range of Google products behind the scenes.

The banner at the top of the pages is a panorama created by David Brown, from photos taken by Alison Brown (c) 2011.  The Footprints of London logo was designed by Peter Brown.

Joining the site if you are a qualified guide

Our plan is to test out the website with a limited audience, and expand to include other qualified guides. If you are a qualified guide, and interested in joining this site when we expand, then please join this mailing list We will let you know when the time comes to extend the site to more guides.
