Virtual Tour – Hertfordshire – Countryside on London’s Border
4 May 2025 No Comments on Virtual Tour – Hertfordshire – Countryside on London’s BorderIf you are looking for an escape from the crowds of London this summer, you don’t have to travel too far to find rolling countryside, historic houses, market towns, ancient woodland, Roman remains, and ruined castles. Hertfordshire, London’s northern neighbour has them all – and they are all within an hour or so of central London.
On this virtual tour of Hertfordshire, Rob will tell you about some of the great places you can visit, staying off the beaten track. He will show you where to find the capital of the Catuvellauni, the Rye House where the murder of a king was planned, where to find bluebell woods and chalk streams, the shrine of England’s first saint, where to walk through the woods on a Roman Road and where you can take a drink in England’s oldest pub (well possibly!). At the end of the talk you’ll get an email with links so you can go and explore on your own.
This Virtual Tour consists of a live slide show with commentary delivered over the Zoom conferencing system. You will have chance to ask questions during and after the tour.
