Hillingdon is one of London’s biggest boroughs and one of the most architecturally varied – from Harmondsworth Barn to Heathrow Terminal 5

This sixty minute virtual tour explores the buildings of London Borough of Hillingdon

Hillingdonis one of the largest and most architectually varied boroughs in London. Traces of the rural area that once bounded London remain in Harmondsworth’s 15th century barn and medieval churches at Cowley and Cranford. There is much of the 20th century to see as well, with elegant Metroland housing in Ruislip and Northwood, and Uxbridge has some fine post world war two civic architecture. Brutalism appears at Brunel University – famous as a location in Stanley Kubrik’s “A Clockwork Orange”. The south of Hillingdon is dominated by Heathrow airport which has some interesting buildings, as does its neighbour – the Stockley Park business centre.

Whatever your taste in buildings, you are bound to find something you like on this virtual tour, part of a series on the best buildings in each London borough
