A day exploring the Kent coast from Dover to Dungeness. A series of short walks linked by bus.

Enjoy a fun day out on the Kent Coast with a few short walks linked by local buses. We will meet at Dover Priory Station and pick up the 104 bus to Capel Le Ferne, a beautiful clifftop location that was at the heart of the Battle of Britain.

Our next stop is the town of Folkestone where there will be time to get some lunch. Picking up the 103 bus we will then travel to Hythe an historic port, transformed by the Royal Military Canal in 1804.

After that we will travel to Dungeness, a beautiful shingle beach often used as a filming location. From there we will take the bus back to Ashford where you can get the train, either to London or back to Dover.

Rob will point out things of interest while on the bus.

Rob will handle the bus timetables and try to keep things to time, but we will be travelling on public buses which might be subject to delay, so the end time is approximate. During the day the bus shouldnt be busy but seats can’t be garunteed. You will need to buy your own bus ticket, but if you are lucky enough to have a London freedom pass, they will be accepted on the bus.
