This walk looks at the different ways that Christmas was celebrated in Islington during the Victorian period

This walk looks at the different ways that Christmas was celebrated in Islington during the Victorian period – whether it was a slice of the celebrated currant cake from Thomas’s or dancing at Henry’s Assembly Rooms, a Christmas lecture from Rev McGuire or a special lunch for the Boot Black Brigade.

There are some funny stories and some sad in this special walk for Christmas which starts and finishes at Angel Tube station.
