Francisco de Miranda was the founder of modern Venezuela. But he spent a lot of his life in London plotting revolution in South America

Francisco de Miranda was a remarkable man, being involved in the American War of Independence, the French Revolution and the Spanish and American Wars of Independence, but he spent much of his life in London. In 1810 a new generation of revolutionaries led by Simon Bolivar and Andres Bello visit Miranda in London in a bid to win support from the British for the South American rebellion against the Spanish.
