In 1522 Henry VIII was desperate to secure an heir to the throne who couldn’t be challenged, plunging the country back into the civil war from which the Tudor dynasty emerged in 1485.

So he began to question his marriage to his dead brother’s widow some thirteen years before. This would lead to a struggle between King and Pope to secure the loyalty of the English people.

Join me in an exploration of the challenge for Supremacy told through the fates of those caught up in a power struggle that resonates through English history.

Meet me outside the Blackfriar Pub at 174 Queen Victoria Street, EC4V 4EG, across the road from Blackfrairs Underground and Main Line Station.

The tour will take approximately two hours, and at Charterhouse Square near to Barbican Underground Station.
