As the tourists head back to the hotels, you can enjoy a more peaceful walk around Westminster highlights.
You will walk in the footprints of Kings and Queens, Empire builders, plotters and fighters who shaped Britain and Empire over 1000 years….all from this tiny settlement on the River Thames. You will see the great Palace of Westminster, Westminster Abbey, as well as a whole host of other iconic buildings that staged the backdrop to great events.
We start at the Watergate on Victoria Embankment – former front door to the home of the notorious Duke of Buckingham. The man who brought disaster to his King. We move on to Whitehall and site of the first and only English regicide; before entering St James’ Park meeting the men who fought to defend Britain, but who also ruthlessly built the British Empire. Then we hear the amazing histories of Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament – iconic buildings that have witnessed the rise and fall of monarchs, and the struggle for power over Britain. We end our tour in Trafalgar Square – where we meet the man who saved Britain from French invasion
This is a busy area of London – hosting the “must see” destinations for all visitors to London, as well as Londoners who want to explore their backyard. So join this tour and enjoy the benefits of a small group experience. There will be a maximum of 8 guests per tour.
