In London the term ‘The City’ is synonymous with organised finance and business. It’s home to banks, insurance companies, and many other financial institutions.

But how did it begin?

Co-authored with Vivien Schrager-Powell, this tour shows you how the City’s financial character developed, and considers milestones along the way.

Meet me outside the Royal Exchange, in front of the Bank of England – just by Exit 3 from Bank Underground Station. We finish near St Paul’s Underground Station.
