In 1988 work began on One Canada Square, an office block which became the focal point of a new development called Canary Wharf. This enterprise zone was to be an extension of the City’s financial district.
But with time the imperatives of development have changed, and Canary Wharf has changed with them.
This tour explores the variety to be found on the Canary Wharf development. It’s a heritage site, an art space, even a burgeoning community. Certainly it’s so much more than just a business hub.
Meet me outside the London Museum Docklands, near Westferry, Canary Wharf and West India Quay DLR Stations.
The tour will take approximately two hours, and finishes back at the Museum.
