Ebenezer Howard had a vision for building a new kind of city with the best elements of town and country. His dream became real at Letchworth

In 1898 Ebenezer Howard wrote the book “Garden Cities of Tomorrow” – a bold vision of a new kind of living incorporating the best elements of Town and City Living

In 1903 it was time to put these ideas into practice and Richard Parker and Raymond Unwin began designing Letchworth Garden City according to Howard’s ideals

On this two hour walk, you will see some wonderful examples of early twentieth century domestic architecture as well as some of the industrial buildings including the Spirella building which made corsets and parchutes.

Letchworth is about 40 minutes out of London by train from Kings Cross or Moorgate stations.
