On this walk we’re diving back into 2,000 years of history in a very historic area of London. It is an area which has attracted many different races throughout the millennia and they have brought their own stories with them.

We will hear of the Romans and especially stories of an amazing Roman cemetery discovered in the area.

Moving forwards in time to the Middle-Ages and we will discover the story behind a medieval hospital.

There are also iconic churches in this area as well as some famous London markets.

And situated in this area is one of the most intriguing houses in the whole of London. It is a house which has been frozen in time for hundreds of years!

Over the centuries Spitalfields has attracted many peoples escaping from persecution. They include the Huguenots, Chinese, Jews and Bangladeshis to name but a few and we will hear their stories too.
