Sue McCarthy
Sue is a Clerkenwell & Islington Guide and a Camden Guide.
She loves guiding in the city where she was born, grew up and has lived for over 50 years. After an eclectic career spent mainly in adult education and charities, Sue now has time to indulge her twin passions of walking and discovering more about this intriguing city. She love to explore lesser-known parts of London and to share her discoveries with Londoners and visitors alike.
Sue’s walks usually have a social history or literary focus and she has a particular interest in the story of London’s women. She is a volunteer guide at the Foundling Museum. When not walking, she struggles to manage her east London allotment.
Sue also guides for Capital Walks in London and East End on Foot
Sue’s walks include:
- Ada Salter: Beautifying Bermondsey
- Art & Industry in East London
