The story of twelve medieval castles that are a short journey from London<\/p>\n\n\n\n

London is home to one of the most famous castles in the world – The Tower of London. However the Tower is not the only castle you can visit in the London area. This virtual tour will tell you about twelve more castles that are about an hour or less from London.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Windsor Castle is famous around the world for its royal residents but this virtual tour will tell you about Windsor’s military past. Berkhamstead Castle was the scene of pivotal moments in British history, you’ll hear how Cooling Castle was destroyed in violent rebellion and how Hadleigh Castle was a stronghold for a king. Rob will talk about some other castles that have not survived so well but which have an equally interesting history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Virtual Tour consists of a live slide show with commentary delivered over the Zoom conferencing system. You will have chance to ask questions during and after the tour. There will also be a follow up email telling you how you can visit the castles when lockdown ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
