His infectious enthusiasm for history will bring the journey to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You will hear about slums and slaughterhouses,\u00a0poverty and prisons, and the purgative properties of the famous spa waters.\u00a0The River Fleet was once the Western boundary of the Roman City of London running sweet and clear.\u00a0Find out how it degenerated into\u00a0an open sewer, its banks crowded with the worst slums in London.\u00a0Stand on the sites of\u00a0notorious prisons\u00a0and\u00a0see the vast Victorian engineering feats including railways and viaducts.
