In this Virtual Tour using Zoom we will look at the historic Old Town of Margate, and hear about how the town became a popular place for the wealthy to enjoy the benefits of sea bathing, dances and the occasional bit of gambling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;ll talk about  the beautiful sands beloved of Turner and T S Eliot, and hear how the railway transformed the town into a pleasure place for working class Londoners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recently the Turner Contemporary Gallery has changed Margate once more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a live virtual tour hosted via Zoom video conferencing where your guide will give an illustrated presentation of the tour route with an accompanying talk.
