This walk looks at visitors to Margate from George IV to mods and rockers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0This is the final in a series of walks along the Medway and Kent Coast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Margate reinvented itself as a fashionable seaside resort in the 18th century.  Wealthy Londoners would come to enjoy the health benefits of sea bathing in what was known as the Margate Season. While they were in Margate they could enjoy dancing, card games, a visit to the library and promenading the seafront.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">J\ufeffoin Rob for a walk looking at Margate&#8217;s relationship with London.
