Starting at Blackfriars Underground, we&#8217;ll take a gentle stroll through streets that Sherlock Holmes would recognise today and ponder these puzzling questions:<\/p>\n<p>* Why was Mr. Jabez Wilson, a London pawnbroker, paid a small fortune to copy out the\u00a0<em>Encyclopedia Britannica<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p>* Just what was his mysterious assistant doing in the cellar?<\/p>\n<p>* Who are the Red-Headed League?<\/p>\n<p>All will be revealed at the end (near Barbican Underground).<\/p>\n<p>Make your day a complete Sherlockian treat by visiting \u00a0\u201cSherlock Holmes: The Man Who Never Lived and Who Will Never Die\u201d at the Museum of London a few moments walk from Barbican Underground<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.museumoflondon.org.uk\/london-wall\/whats-on\/exhibitions-displays\/sherlock-holmes\/\">http:\/\/www.museumoflondon.org.uk\/london-wall\/whats-on\/exhibitions-displays\/sherlock-holmes\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Saturday 18th October 2pm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.co.uk\/e\/sherlock-holmes-of-london-tickets-12322834931\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>Sherlock Holmes of London<\/em><\/strong><\/a> led by Robin<\/p>\n<p>Sherlock in the City! From \u201cThe Man With the Twisted Lip\u201d to \u201cThe Bruce-Partington Plans\u201d there\u2019s fun here for every Sherlockian. We start our trail at Cannon Street Station, where Mr. Neville St. Claire was expected to catch the 5.14 train to his wife and family at Lee in Kent. He was last seen in a vile opium den near the river \u2013 then disappeared! On this walk, we look at clues from many more thrilling Sherlock Holmes adventures. We finish our mystery trail at Aldgate Underground, where the unfortunate Arthur Cadogan West was found on the Underground tracks, with stolen naval plans on his body.<\/p>\n<p>Friday 17th October <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.co.uk\/e\/sherlock-holmes-the-return-tickets-12453164751\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><em>The Adventure of the Empty House<\/em><\/strong><\/a> led by Jen<\/p>\n<p>This walk will explore the mews and backstreets of Marylebone following Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson as they track down a murderer in \u2018The Adventure of the Empty House\u2019.
