Rob talks about his favourite buildings in the London Borough of Wandsworth, including the former Youngs brewery and Battersea Power Station

This sixty minute virtual tour explores the buildings of London Borough of Wandsworth

Wandsworth once comprised lower lying land that was later used for market gardening, but it has an industrial history, particularly along the River Wandle, that goes back to the earliest phases of the industrial revolution.

In this talk Rob will tell the stories of his favourite Wandsworth buildings – like St Mary’s Battersea, late Victorian St Mary & St John The Divine Balham and Edwardian St James Church.

There are plenty of fine industrial buildings, most obviously the former Battersea Power Station, but also the former Youngs brewery in Wandsworth.

Other Highlights include Du Cane court and the Festival of Britain structures in Battersea Park
